The new way to kill mold and keep it from coming back.
Serving Central NJ, Middletown, Woodbridge, Toms River
This crawl space was wide open to the elements.
After removing the bad insulation, the Cowleys mold crew was ready to perform its mold treatment.
We also installed an Everlast vent door cover to help block off the crawl space from outside air and moisture. Even though these covers completely seal a vent, they are easy to open for those few times when a homeowner or repair person needs crawlspace access. All you have to do is twist a few knobs, and you're in! These doors are made with a hard durable plastic that be installed against wood framing or masonry. We recommend these vent covers because they are virtually impermeable to the outdoor elements, and, unlike wood vents, they will not rot, warp, or crack, and they never need to be painted.
We first treated the affected areas by applying our EPA-registered anti-microbial (MAPS 1) to kills the surface mold and reduce the level of airborne mold spores. Next, we applied our patented polymer sealant (MAPS 2). Upon contact, this sealant renders any mold inert, harmless, and non-allergenic. The sealant has a unique property: It is moisture sensitive! This mold has the unique ability to reactivate if exposed to water or moisture and prevent the return of new mold growth.

This Belmar homeowner had mold growing in his crawl space. This crawl space, as most any vented crawl space, was wide open to the elements. As often happens, moist outdoor air entering this area resulting in high indoor relative humidity levels, and in turn, this set the stage for mold growth. Unfortunately, mold formed on the damp insulation, contaminating it. Because insulation is porous, once contaminated, it is not salvageable and needs to be removed. The homeowner will be installing new insulation after the mold problem is resolved.
