Plumbing Leak Turns to Mold in Middletown, NJ

There was a pending sale of a home in Middletown, NJ. During the home inspection, a plumbing leak was found. The sellers immediately had the plumbing repaired, but, as often happens, a secondary problem developed. The water intrusion had triggered some mold growth. The homeowners contacted Mold Solutions By Cowleys to treat the mold so that the pending sale could proceed without delay. 

First, we equipped our personal protective equipment (PPE) and then treated the mold with an antimicrobial application called MAPS 1, which stands for Mold Abatement Polymer Solutions. MAPS 1 is an EPA registered product that attacks mold on a cellular level and immediately kills it. Next, we used our mold stain remover and scrubbed away all the mold growth throughout the area.  Mold stains are a byproduct of mold growth and are not a health concern. Mold stains are purely cosmetic, but when there is mold growth in living areas of the home, the staining is unsightly and needs to be removed. 

Afterward, we applied our patented sealant called MAPS 2. MAPS 2 is a moisture-sensitive application that encapsulates the surface mold is growing on and renders it harmless, inert, and non-allergenic. One of the best features of MAPS 2 is that it will reactivate whenever it gets wet to prevent future mold growth. With the mold gone and the areas looking as good as new, the pending sale could now proceed without delay. The sellers were happy, the buyers were happy, and the realtors were happy.
