Mold Was Growing Behind the Wall
After spotting several mold stains on the walls and thoroughly examining the garage, we determined that there was mold growing behind the walls.
Compromised
The walls were so contaminated by the mold, that you can literally push your finger on the wall and it will go right through.
Tear it Out & Begin Treatment
With the owner's permission we removed all of the compromised materials, disposed of them properly, and treated the garage with an EPA registered antimicrobial solution called MAPS 1. This application attacks mold at its DNA and immediately eliminates it. We then applied our mold stain remover, scrubbed all the mold stains and then applied MAPS 2. MAPS 2 is a patented sealant that encapsulates the surface mold is growing on and renders it harmless and non-allergenic. It's also moisture sensitive and will reactivate whenever it gets wet to prevent any future mold growth.
New ComfortTherm® Insulation
Afterward, we installed ComfortTherm® Insulation throughout the area. ComfortTherm® Insulation is poly-encapsulated and helps to preserve the air quality, reduce energy costs, provide excellent temperature and noise control, and comes with a vapor-retarder for use in hot, humid climates.
