The Mold Solutions team was sent to a Toms River home in the Holiday City 55+ community. The home is currently under contract for sale. However, as often happens, during the home inspection performed on behalf of the potential buyers, the home inspector found what appeared to be mold in the crawl space. On a prior visit, we had inspected the crawl space and located mold growth both visually and by its characteristic pungent odor. Crawl spaces and basements are common areas for mold growth because of their high relative humidity. This concealed defect halted the purchase process and the current homeowner was faced with a major issue that had to be resolved for the sale to move forward.
The seller authorized Mold Solutions to treat the mold and the team was there to fix the problem.
We first treated the affected area by applying our EPA-registered anti-microbial using electrostatic fogging. This process kills any surface mold as well as any airborne mold spores found in the crawl space. After a waiting period to be certain the mold is dead,we apply a commercial-grade stain remover to mold-stained surfaces that have heavy black staining left behind by mold. Finally, after this product dries, we apply our patented polymer sealant, also using electrostatic fogging. This unique sealant, which is derived from coatings used for human implant devices, while completely safe and non-toxic to people, destroys mold at the cellular level. Any mold we treat is rendered inert, harmless, and non-allergenic. The sealant is also moisture-sensitive and reactivates to prevent the return of any new mold growth in the treated area.
Because of our mold treatment system, a major issue that could have easily derailed the sale was avoided, and the purchase could go forward with no delay in the closing date.
